The main pricing factors

FactorWhy it affects the price
MaterialRaw material price, machinability and availability
QuantitySetup and programming cost is spread over more parts; casting and stamping add tooling cost
Tolerances and surfacesTighter tolerances and finer surfaces mean more machining and inspection effort
GeometryNumber of setups, 5-axis machining, deep pockets, thin walls
TechnologyCNC, casting, stamping, sheet metal or 3D printing have different cost structures
Finishing and documentationSurface treatment, CMM report, EN 10204 3.1 material certificates
Deadline and logisticsRush orders and transport to Germany, Austria or Switzerland

How to reduce cost

  • Specify tight tolerances only where function requires it.
  • Choose common materials and stock sizes.
  • Adapt inner radii and geometry to standard tools.
  • Request several quantity breaks to compare tiered prices.
  • Clarify the technology early: die casting usually pays off from 500–1,000 pieces, 3D printing versus CNC machining below about 50 pieces.

How to get a reliable quote

Send a drawing or 3D model with material, quantity, tolerances and required documentation. Our engineers review the documents, we select suitable partners and usually send a quote within 48 hours. We name concrete prices only after reviewing your drawing.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will I receive a quote?

We usually send a quote within 48 hours of receiving the complete technical documents. For more complex parts it may take a little longer.

From what quantity does die casting pay off?

Usually from 500–1,000 pieces, because the tooling cost is spread over the quantity. For smaller quantities, sand or gravity die casting is more economical.

When does 3D printing beat CNC machining?

For complex geometries, quantities below about 50 pieces, part consolidation, or when conformal cooling channels and lightweight structures are needed.

What documents do you need for a quote?

A technical drawing or 3D model (STEP for quote calculation), plus material, quantity, tolerances and desired delivery date.
